Paolo Benedetti
Paolo focuses on antitrust issues in the digital economy. Likewise, in cases linked to economic regulation and competition in network industries and markets characterized by substantial government intervention. Between 2021 and 2024 he served as Head of Antitrust at Mercado Libre, being in charge of all antitrust matters (both for marketplace and fintech) in the 18 Latin American countries in which the company has a presence.
He was Director General of Outreach at the Federal Competition Commission between 2010 and 2013, where he coordinated the interaction between the CFC and federal and state governments, international organizations, and competition authorities in other countries. Between 2007 and 2010, Paolo was Deputy Director of Mergers at the CFC and Director General at the Ministry of Communications and Transport.
Before that, he participated in regulatory and competition projects with the World Bank, the European Commission and several Latin American countries, and was Chief of Staff of the Minister of Competition and Consumer Protection in Argentina.
He holds a PhD in government from the London School of Economics.
