Octavio Rangel Castanedo
Octavio has experience in merger control in a wide range of markets, particularly in the real estate, financial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and energy markets, among others. He has also participated in projects related to investigations of anticompetitive practices and advises clients on compliance with the Federal Antitrust Law.
Prior to joining Agon, Octavio worked as a legal advisor at the Board of Commissioners at the Mexican Antitrust Authority (Comisión Federal de Competencia Económica) from 2014 to 2022.
Octavio holds a law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and a Master of Laws (LL.M) in International Economic Law from the University of Warwick where he was awarded a degree with merit.
