Mr. Reyes Heroles has been a political commentator for over 30 years, publishing in several Mexican newspapers: Uno más Uno, La Jornada, El Financiero, Reforma, El Norte, Mural and currently in Excélsior, as well as appearing frequently on radio and television. He is the founder and Chair of the Board of Transparencia Mexicana (the Mexican chapter of Transparency International) an organization created in 1993 to fight corruption and promote good governance.
He is also the founder of the monthly journal ESTE PAÍS and presides the eponymous foundation dedicated to social research. He has been a founding member of the Comisión Nacional de Arbitraje Médico, a member of the Comisión Nacional de los Derechos Humanos, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
He has more than 12 published books, among which are some essays in political philosophy like Memorial del Mañana, Concer y decidir, Entre las bestias y los dioses and Alterados. He has also published 5 novels: Ante los ojos de Desirée, Noche Tibia, El Abismo and Canon, this last novel was made into a feature film in 2014, and El Abecedario his most recent publication.
